Free Yarn--DON'T POST COMMENTS ALLLL DONE!

I have two lovely new colorways and no names. I'm feeling a bit brainless i guess. Post suggestions for names and I will be giving several skeins of Castle's Rough Yarn away for free. (Rough Yarn is a slightly rougher yarn than my typical sock yarn and would work up lovely for felting purses or such. You can see pictures of some colorways here in my etsy store: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=11974&section_id=5002440).

Here's the yarn! What suggestions do you have? Be sure to post a name so i can identify who you are if you win. the names will be picked by me, but the winners will be picked at random, as well as those who pick the winning names. I will be giving away 1 skein of yarn (past the winning two) for every 25 people who post suggestions. So invite your friends and neighbors! (up to about 15 skeins cuz then i'll run out!)

Also visit my new website: http://castlefibers.com/ for more yarn to look at!

Contest will run through Jan. 23rd.

Autumn Gold Rush

and

Mulberry Love

The top one reminds me of a flickering fire so I'll go with "Fireside Romance" for that one.

The bottom one looks purplish so I suggest "Purple Haze" for it.

My Ravelry name is peanutgreen.

Top one: Chestnut Harvest

Bottom one: Concord Jam
(like the grapes).
Alternatively, Concord Conserve
(still like the grapes, but with bits of orange peel floating in it!)

You have beautiful colorways!

I'd call the top colorway Appalachia, because it reminds me of the Appalachian Mountains. The bottom colorway I'd call Moonrise, as it has all the colors in the night sky when the moon is rising.

My Ravelry name is: hilliknits

OMG, (could just be my screen but)i love the way these yarns seem to glow!
i am a science geek, and immediatly on seeing the blue one i thought "biolumenesence!" - its when sea creatures glow (often a bright, gorgeous, blue) at night or in the deep parts of the ocean where there is no light...

Okay, this is a second attempt at posting my suggestions, forgive me if they're on the list somewhere.

In honor of the ever classic, much missed show of my youth, Gilligan's Island, I'm going to suggest

Ginger (sultry, steamy, sexy) & Maryann (all American red, white & blue)

I know this one will make you smile so I have to suggest it - Candied Bacon.

The second yarn I spent the day thinking of Summer Pudding. That said, I skimmed the other suggestions and someone suggested 'Blurple' and now I can't get that pseudo-word out of my head.

I have been contemplating two appropriate names...I wanted something with historical beauty and strength...so I went to the greek gods. For the bottom skein, I believe the god of the vine, Demeter and the top skein would be Artemis goddess of the hunt.

2. PURPLE HEART

For the first, Anne (as in, Anne of Green Gables)
and, the second will require some explanation, but,
Lucinda, based on this sentence from Lucy Maud Montgomery's Chronicles of Avonlea:
" Lucinda had magnificent eyes. Once Romney had written a sonnet to them in which he compared their colour to ripe blueberries. This may not sound poetical to you unless you know or remember just what the tints of ripe blueberries are--dusky purple in some lights, clear slate in others, and yet again in others the misty hue of early meadow violets." (For some reason, this sentence has stuck with me for years even though the last time I read it I was 10.)

Also MsFeasance on Ravelry.

Fall in American for the goldish colors of our Falls.

American Skies for the second one. The colors remind me of our skies when you look up at various times.

Beautiful color combinations:

yarn #1: DAMSEL IN DISTRESS (I'm imagining said damsel trapped in a burning castle turret or cornered by a flame throwing dragon) .

another name I have is DRAGON SCALES since this yarn has an almost iridescent feel to it, I imagine a dragon having that display of fiery oranges and reds shimmering from its scales.

yarn #2: ENCHANTMENT (I'm imagining a maiden strolling through mythical forrest at dawn or dusk, blanketed with fog, when fairies appear).

another name for this one could be FAIRY GODMOTHER (I imagine her appearing in a swirl of blues and pinks, much like this yarn)

Best of luck selecting names!

Very nice colors. hhhmmmm I kind of prefer mythology so here goes sorry if someone has already come up with these.

For the first one
Back draft
Bonfire
Apollo's Chariot
Helios(Titan sun or sun god)

For the second one
Mare Serenitatis (the Sea of Serenity on the moon)
First Kiss
Bay Laurel (not because of it's actual color or the color of it's flowers, but because of what it symbolizes)
Artimis' Chariot
Selene (Titan moon or moon goddess)
