Freedom
The gray sky hung low o’er the field
As a hundred and ten marched along
They marched bravely singing their song:
“Onward for freedom or die”
“Onward for freedom or die
Onward for freedom or die”
“Freedom” was their battle cry
“Onward for freedom or die”
A thousand came over the hill
The leader of the hundred stood still
Sword overhead, a wild look in his eye
He cried: “Onward for freedom or die”
The stream ran that day
As the thousand marched away
But you could still hear the wind cry:
“Onward for freedom or die”
Still today if you go to that field
You can hear swords clashing on shields
And if you listen close you can hear
That whisper, it’s quiet but clear:
“Onward for freedom or die
Onward for freedom or die”
“Freedom” was their battle cry
“Onward for freedom or die”
“Onward for freedom or die
Onward for freedom or die”
“Freedom” was their battle cry
“Onward for freedom
Onward for freedom,
Onward for freedom or die.”
