Ok--
so I always post new pictures on Sunday...OOPS! Anyway, I have some group pictures that I've retaken with the idea that they would TOGETHER make a great project. What do you think of them???? I don't have ton of NEW (only the baby yarn and the blue berry) because I am trying to do some bigger lots and I'm not done with the orange or the red yet!!!! But look for it soon...some really orange stuff and some red/pink variegated...lots of it!
The baby yarn is SOOOOO soft and nice. It is about 15 WPI. I love it.
The blue berry is quite thick and thin and very pretty!!!
So...let me know what you think which pic is better?????

Sunday...new yarn
Yup, it's Sunday, so new yarn...not as much as some weeks because I have actually run out of old bits and pieces, so these are actually from this week. Additionally my daughter's science fair was this week. Helping with that took some time.
During the experiement I found out some cool stuff...yellow dye is the smallest molecule, next red, next blue. But if you leave any of them for 24 hours you get some helatiously deep colors. WOW!! Blue was almost black...yellow was orange...red was well, red.
This week I tried koolaid as a mordant. This is NOT to say a dye. I picked one of those color changing ones that is pretty worthless to dye with but...the first ingredient in koolaid is ... citric acid. AWESOME cheap source of it. Plus it doesn't smell quite as bad as straight hot vinegar.
anyway, check out the yarn...leave a comment if you like...I always love hearing from people.

A New Week of Spinning and some leftovers
Hey--
A good week, mostly. I've been getting lots more bids on my yarn on ebay. Check out the auctions for castleman.spf and you'll see. Most of the skeins below are this week. A few are retakes of pictures I wasn't happy with, and the pics of a bunch of little skeins are leftovers that I'll auction in bigger lots. Some were spun this week, some in the past.
I am particularly happy with the three skeins together that are titled "gorgeous overdyed brown wool" also "brilliant" and "pastels". "Funky pyrple" is strange. the wool was full of little bits of short cuts but I was playing with spinning it anyway. I dyed it in the wool and then carded and spun it. The result is a rather strange, but appealing looking and feeling wool.
the "strange felted wool" is from some roving I was given, it was harsh andthen I inadvertantly almost felted it while dyeing it. So I went with that. after I had spun it I rubbed every inch of yarn while it was still wet until the whole skein is felted. Strange but interesting. NOT SOFT!!!
Soft fall is a very pretty pastel-y yarn. It is really soft and fuzzy. I spin it from hand combed white top and then painted the singles. I was planning on plying it but it came out so pretty I decided to leave it as singles.
How was your week???
