it's a white after-Christmas

yup, we had 65 degrees on Christmas but today is white and clean and crisp and cold. So, I tried my hand last night at dyeing commercial wool yarn. I haven't checked what it looks like yet. It was wet last night so I don't know but I'm hoping. I'm going to start including about 100 yards of coordinated commercial yarn with some of my *Yarn Bouquets*.

cool pictures for after Christmas

so...there are pictures of a neat handmade crocheted bag below. It is crocheted by a fabulous lady in Wisconsin (leesa) with bulky commercial yarn but has an added ruffle made from my handspun. I love it!!!!

Also, there are pictures of some very pretty roving that I traded for and then overdyed. It is dark grey and the overdyeing turned out great. I have since carded the roving very lightly and need to take another picture of it. I'll try to get that posted soon!!!

So, this is a bag crocheted with commercial yarn but with a beautiful handspun ruffle on top...Leesa made it....Wow!!!

well...

I did some dyeing today. I got some very cool grey wool and overdyed it a variety of colors. It looks very cool so far, it isn't dry yet, so I'll take pics tomorrow. I love the overdyed look. I'm going to be doing some spinning kits soon. I think I need a break from spinning *Yarn Bouquets*. I'm sort of frustrated. They aren't selling nearly as well, maybe I just need a break from them, so I'm going to be putting out some smallish separate skeins and kits that aren't necessarily bouquets. maybe four or five nice coordinated skeins instead of 15. anyway...

secret spinner...

well...i got my secret spinner gift several days ago. I love the knitting needles. After Christmas I'm learning to knit. The earmuffs were nice. The yarn is probably not exactly my style but my sister, who is the knitter will love it! wow, cool stuff....what a fun surprise!!!!

chilly morning

It is 16 degrees this morning but feels like 1 degree. high of 20 today....geeze it's cold. YUCKY!!! I need to dye stuff this morning. J. will hate the smell but it needs to be done. I have no yarn bouquets. I need a new one for Ebay. I do have a ton of yarn up tho. Check out my auctions. I changed the pictures for the gallery pics on both Etsy and Ebay. What do you think?????

I need to dye some silk this morning but I haven't gotten up the gumption! I like spinning, dyeing then plying yarn...so that's what this silk will be. I haven't quite decided what colors will be beautiful today, which doesn't help but...anyway...

I have choir practice today, then i work so, I won't be getting as much done as i usually do but...

i'm feeling very much like it is Monday morning! DAMN!!

well, i went to an SCA event yesterday. it was fabulous! today we're taking the kids to the Narnia movie!

Brenden is POTTY TRAINED!!!

two nights he's gone without night diapers!! I can't believe that i am done with diapers forever--or at least until i'm much older ;-)

I got SILK. Lovely, beautiful, soft, fabulous, luscious SILK. 2 pounds of gorgeous silk. I can't believe how beautiful it is. I've had some before but two whole pounds of white, can't wait to be dyed and spun silk. I am in HEAVEN!!!!!
